Desserts

At the beginning of the summer, I decided that I really wanted to try making some of the recipes that I have been collecting from Pinterest. I unfortunately did not get to try out as many as I had wanted to and, I didn't take pictures of everything that I tried but, here is what I had and where I got the recipes from.

COPYCAT GARRETT'S POPCORN

Ever since my family tired Garrett's popcorn on our Spring Break trip to Chicago we have been hooked. My dad's favorite was the Chicago mix but I loved just the carmel part. So, when I found this recipe, I decided to just stick with my favorite of the two.

I got a pretty decent sized pan out of the recipe and it was gone within the day.

FRENCH MACARONS

Ever since my trip to Spain and France I have been wanting to try to make my own macarons. Unfortunately, my first batch failed. My second batch was pretty fantastic though, I even brought them for the 4th of July party that my family and I went to.

To help me make the macrons I used quite a few different helpful things:
For the recipe, this video
For the filling, this recipe
And for tips on how to do it better next time, this helpful website
To get mostly even cookies, I printed a pattern and placed it under wax paper. Just search macarons template and there should be a bunch that pop up.

These cookies are a lot of work and take time but, for me it was fun to make them and they went fast!

Edible Cookie Dough for One

This did not turn out well for me. I ended up throwing it all away after trying a few bites it was that bad. I'm not entirely sure where I went wrong making this but I did go wrong.
I got the recipe here hopefully most people will have a better experience with it than I did.
